London Underground - UV Cured-In-Place Pipe Rehabilitation

Client:
Metronet - London Underground Limited
Project:
600mm track drainage culvert rehabilitation

This Scheme consisted of following sub-projects:

  • USSR were appointed by Subterra to undertake the installation of UV Cured In Place INPIPE GRP Liners to the existing culverts located under the rail tracks between Kings Cross and Farringdon stations on the London Underground Metropolitan Line.
  • Due to the unique roll on / roll off design of our lining unit, we were able to lower the unit by crane from a bridge onto a special bogey designed to travel on the existing rail system. Once lowered and in place the unit was driven into position on the track to allow the Pipe Rehabilitation works to commence.
  • UV Cured-In-Place Pipe Rehabilitation

    • Sewer Renovation was carried using 370 metres of brick sewers, which were in poor structural condition. These were renovated in seven separate lengths over three weekend possessions, each of approximately 40 hours.
    •

    • This project won the 2007 Pipeline Industries Guild Award for outstanding achievement in Utility Pipeline Technology.
